Due to the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process, the A-10s are slated to be distributed to other A-10 units beginning in 2009, a process which will be complete by 2011. The 107th FS is still in the process to convert from an F-16C/D unit to an A-10 unit. By mid-February 2009, seven A-10s (probably all from the 172nd FS, 110th FW) are now on temporary loan at Selfridge ANGB, until the 127th Wing is ready to officially take ownership of the aircraft in late April. The aircraft at Selfridge now are being used as to get the maintainers fully qualified.

A-10s showing up when Ground Troops are in Shit Storm....gives a Warm Fuzzy, when they roll in Low & Slow, & look at you "Eyeball to Eyeball" to asses the situation.
